The fear of the cringe... I hate thinking about l

The fear of the cringe...

I hate thinking about likes and engagement on posts. It is definitely wasted energy worrying about what people think and whether someone ‘likes’ what you post, is totally agnostic and scrolls by or even unfollows (awkward). It's easy to do though because we are all human and we constantly worry what other people think about us. If you have mastered complete confidence and zero hang ups I would appreciate a message with your top tips.

This week I was waiting for a train and a message dropped into my inbox. The person told me that they loved seeing my journey and my posts brightened their day. It was more meaningful to me than any 'like' or 'comment' and it definitely made me smile.

If you are putting yourself out there - people are seeing it, they might not always actively 'like' every post but just keep going as you never know where you might be making an impact. Have the fear of the cringe, but do it anyway.

Six months into podcasting my advice is this: 1.

Six months into podcasting my advice is this:

1. When it comes to confidence we are generally our own biggest critic.
2. The spotlight we create for ourselves is something that only we see.
3. Not everyone will like everything we do (or every episode) and that's ok. Far better to be creating discussion and opinion than being too vanilla to generate a comment.
4. After the first episode, or the first post, or the first blog or the first video the second is far less scary and actually starts to feel exciting.
5. Creating something from scratch and bringing it to life and having other people use it, enjoy it and value it is an unbeatable feeling!

If you are thinking about doing something new but holding yourself back, just go for it.

Stressed or Well Dressed of the week. Nike launch

Stressed or Well Dressed of the week.

Nike launched their male and female outfits which are proposed to be used to clothe the US athletes in track and field events at this summer's Olympics in Paris.

The female outfit has come under a lot of criticism for being skimpy, impractical and not necessarily fit for purpose for athletes to be at their best when competing.
Nike have since said there are other options available for athletes and therefore more choices than the ones in the image - but this was the lead image.

As a runner (but not perhaps Olympic level!) I love the functionality of the right running kit. Slimline pocket is my absolute essential.

So what's the verdict on this one? Practical or performative?

It's so easy to be your own biggest critic but actually it feels a lot better to be your own biggest cheerleader. Alicia's resilience, confidence and passion for what she does is so inspiring and her energy is contagious.

I challenge you to listen and think about how you can be inspired to follow your dreams even just one percent more.

I have spent the last 6 months interviewing people and hearing their stories.

On Friday the tables were turned and Alicia Kite asked me exactly those questions. It's rare we allow the mirror to be turned on ourself and face the big questions. It isn't always comfortable but it's how we get really honest and how we grow.

She asked me the questions that people are too scared to ask about how you see yourself and gave me some very perceptive feedback!

Alicia is a Personal Stylist and Coach and works with people to help them to understand and elevate their wardrobes.
It is total retail therapy - in your own wardrobe!

It was a total transition from Stressed to Well Dressed and a great opportunity to reflect on personal branding
